Grass

I took Marlee to a near by neighborhood to play in the grass for the first time. She did not know what to think. I first laid her on her tummy and she would not move, then when I sat her up is when she figured out she did not like it. But I got some cute shots anyways.

BEWARE

I have posted about 3 new post. So sorry it has taken me so long to post something. But with me being in school now, I don't have to much spare time.

Homemade baby food

Marlee has started eating solid more and I have always wanted to make her baby food. So this weekend I started so I would have a little supply going. I made carrots (as pictured), apples, sweet potatoes and pears. It is super easy and cheap. I spent $4.79 and made about 64 servings of baby food. That equals about .07 cents per serving which is alot better than .79 cents per serving when you buy the jars of baby food.

6 months old

Can you believe it has been 6 months since this little angel has been born? I can't!! Marlee is the best baby ever. She is always so happy and smiley. She is also super sweet. It is true she is 6 months old. I don't know how much she weights. We haven't had her 6 month check up yet but she is still long and skinny. She can still fit into some 3 month clothing but she is mostly in 6 month clothing. Here are a few things about our growing girl.

* She no longer needs to be swaddled. I thought it was going to be a scary transition but she really did it all on her own. It is so much not to do any more too!!

* She just recently (about 2 weeks ago) started sleeping through the night. That's right and it is so awesome!!

*She is starting to sit on her own. She can do it for several minutes at a time but that's about it.

* She is talking more and more! She doesn't really laugh.

* She loves watching Your Baby Can Read videos. She always gets the biggest smile when you start it.

*She loves music, any type of music. It is really funny because music will be playing on a commercial and she'll stop what she is doing and start watching TV.

* She also loves solid foods. So far we have tried bananas, apples and avocados. She did not like the avocados as you can tell in the last picture.

* Marlee loves giving hugs and kisses when you get her from her nap. She will grab each side of your face and then plant a open mouth kiss on your cheek. It is so cute.

Marlee's friend

We had a few people over for the Super Bowl. We got invited to a couple of parties but with my school schedule, I was too tired to go any where and it was just easier to have a couple of friends at our place. This is one of Marlee's friends that came over. Her name also starts with a "M" and she is only 3 days older than Marlee. It was so cute to see them together. If you take a look at the last picture, you can see them holding hands.

Marlee really really likes other babies. If she sees on at church, she instantly reaches for them. If she sees one on TV, she gets really excited. I think she is going to be a social butterfly but I wonder where she gets that from.

Check out my Bling

Marlee turned 4 months old on the 26th and lucky for her she had her Doctors appointment the next day. Her stats are now: 12 lbs 12 oz, 33% for weight and 25 1/2 inches, 90% for height. So she is one long, skinny baby but healthy none the less. Marlee is surprising us more and more each day. She just seems so smart and so strong for her age. She can already roll over from tummy to back and from back to tummy. She giggles more and more each day. She talks up and storm and can get very loud. Marlee found her feet the other day which is so cute to watch. She also kicks her feet like crazy. I think I put her socks back on like a million times a day.

After Marlee's Doctors appointment, we decided to go get her ears pierced. It was either now or wait til she is older. So since she was already going to be in pain from her shots we thought why not get the ears done too. Doesn't she look so stinkin cute?

Rice Cereal

Can you believe Marlee is already 16 weeks? Where has the time gone? It has been so funny to watch her become more aware of her surroundings. She is so alert but she has been since day one. Well we have noticed that very time we eat or drink Marlee will watch our every move. She is watch the fork get the food, the fork going up to my mouth and then she'll even watch me chew. So since she seemed so interested, we tried rice cereal today.

This picture is before we got started. She has no idea what is coming.

Ok, here we go. She didn't no what to think at first. It just sat in her mouth for a few minutes. Then she realized there was something in her mouth and she started smacking her lips. It was so cute.

See here it is just sitting there. But she doesn't seem to mind it.

The spoon wasn't working to well so I tried using my finger. She did much better with this and started to eat it a little more. It was a fun experience but I think we might wait a few more weeks to try it again.

Fiesta Bowl

Roy and I were able to go the Fiesta Bowl this year. We actually got season tickets and what that means is every year we will have the option to buy tickets to the game and also the National Championship game if it is here that year. We had such a great time. This was also my first time leaving Marlee longer than 2 hours. I believe I did pretty well.

This picture doesn't do the Boise State fans any justice only because that was the side we were sitting one. But there definitely was a sea of orange. Boise State fans were so much louder compared to TCU fans. Every time Boise's defense stepped out onto the field they would go nuts. It was a great experience to witness true fans.

Here I am with our tickets. Our seats we decent ( we were like 5 rows away from the very top) but as Roy would say, " It's better up here because you can see the plays develop"

Here is Roy being his goofy self. That the game, Roy ran into someone he went to Jr. High with. It was crazy! They were sitting across from us and one row down. I tell ya, Roy knows someone every where we go.
