What is a girl suppose to do???

I think most of you know that I have been going to school to become an R.N. Well I don't know if you know that there is a wait-list to get into the Nursing Program. I have been on this wait list for about a year and a half. Let me tell you....I'm getting tired of waiting.

In October, they pulled names for the spring (2009) semester and once again I did not get pulled. So Roy and I had a long talk. You see lately I have been thinking about changing my major. Now I know what some of you might be thinking.....NO, Why? Isn't that wasting time. Well really it's not when you think about.

I have really been thinking about getting my Elementary Education Degree. Most of the classes I have already taken will go towards this degree so I didn't really waste any time. And I won't be in school any longer then if I went for nursing. Listen to this..... If I continue to wait to get into the nursing program ( who knows how long that will take) I'll still have 2 years until I'm an R.N. and I will only graduate with an Associates Degree. It will take 1 more year to get my Bachelors. Now if I switch to Education, I will have about 2 1/2 years until I'm done with school and that is with my Bachelors.

Now, I want to hear your comments. Let me know what you think of me being a teacher or a nurse.

P.S. I would want to teach 2nd or 3rd grade!

That's crazy you have had to wait so long! It's hard feeling stir crazy when nothing is happening, and switching isn't a bad thing as long as you are going to enjoy what you will be doing. So I say go for it if you feel good about it. Pray about it! ☺

I think you would be a wonderful teacher!! Though you would also be a fantastic nurse! Have you tried getting in to diffrent nursing programs? It might be easier to get in at a diffrent school. Just a thought. If you work at a hospital they are also quicker to accept you to programs. I know some schools here save spots for students that work at my hospital specifically. Just another thought for ya. You would be great at either career though. So like Kay said pray about it!! And don't forget to let us know your decision!!
